Mornin', folks. Hiya, Butterfly. :)
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Hello, folks. Sorry if I'm quiet... getting over bronchitis, and it's left me a little loopy, so my multitasking ability is way, way down. I'm outta here for now. Talk to y'all later.

Another day closing, another crisis solved, and my boss called me a superstar. Busy day... but a good one.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Hey, Zeph. S'up?

Jesus saves? Airbags do. -Zeitgeist Jesus saves. All others in the party take full damage.

ORANGE TX- Rainbo Bridge closed when winds reached 49MPH. Ambulances huddling under overpasses- Port Arthur Pulling out the people running the pumps-oh ! That is when overflow spills in. -sand According to information here at work, the police and military authorities have told our people to stay off the roads. They're not letting anyone move around Houston Metro that doesn't have to, save for emergencies.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Okay, hon. Enjoy your afternoon, and I'll see you in a few hours. :)
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Coincidentally, I really, REALLY want a nap, right now.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
It's interesting how adrenaline affects the body. It's like chugging a six-pack of energy drinks, then running a marathon at super-speed, followed by the sudden inexplicable urge to Take A Friggin' Nap.

The leading edge of IKE is making landfall. Storm is still listed as Category 2 Hurricane. Winds sustained at 105MPH.

I love this country. I served this country in the Army for several years. I think the idea of America is great... however, I think that the lunatics have gotten the keys to the asylum, and that it's gotten too big, and too polarized to hang together much longer. The main question is where the cracks are, how hard they're going to split, and where the shrapnel's going to fly when it happens.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Okay, back from lunch, and the baleful red voicemail light of my desk phone is illuminated like the eye of Sauron, seeking its victim. Responses to messages may be slow.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Ok... crisis is on hold for the moment. Going to go grab some grub. Ephe, I'll call you in a few, once I've wolfed down lunch.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Love you too, Ephe. Sorry I haven't called yet -- haven't even gotten lunch, yet. It's been bugnuts crazypants today.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
...I am definitely gonna need me some DOOM time, at some point tonight.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Sand: More like I'm trying to get service out to someone in H-Town who drew the short straw.

o/` Riders on the storm... Riders on the storm... o/` O HAI. I R SAVING UR DATAS FROM HURRCAIN. ...Kill me.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
*grumble* And my work day frustration level just jacked up about 300%. #$%& it. I'm goin' to lunch.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
matter cannot generate code. code systems only come from intelligence - Kimberly Actually, I'm going to chime in and disagree on this point, or at least clarify. "Code" can mean the cryptographic sense, in which you are taking understandable info and making it encoded and unreadable, or the reverse - decoding information to comprehend it. Another meaning of "code" however, is the programming sense - A set of instructions. DNA/RNA fulfills this criteria rather nicely.

Mornin', Zeph.

Good morning from Texas.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
I need a change in my life. If I don't, then the stagnancy of my career shall provide my energies with nowhere to go, and the resulting vibratory harmonics shall surely drive me mad.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Good luck to everyone out Florida way... looks like Hurricane Ike's going to hit hard. =\
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Anyhow, work's done. Time to go home. Later, peeps.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
if nobody wants you to share with them, then it kinda sucks after a while... ; ) -Zephyrus I don't mind people sharing, as long as whatever they're sharing isn't Drama-Flavored. ;)
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Some days, certain people should just mind their own gods-damned business. It would make life, in general, easier.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Another day done. Later, folks.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Good morning everyone. Hopefully Tuesday will be a good one. I could never get the hang of Thursdays, for example.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Thanks for the good wishes, Karen. Right back atcha. :)

Want to be Humbled and Dropped to below ground level? BE a Caretaker- Comfort may be quiet- and NOT fleeing when others cannot bare THAT pain. They do FLEE- feeling Vulnerable and Inept in that position. THEN you must open your Soul to allow it to flow Through you- EXPERIENCE not opinion. -sand I'm starting to understand this, Sand. I see her in pain, and wish I could relieve it, but I know that I'm not a miracle worker -- but either way, I'm NOT running from this. I care for her too much.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
The most frustrating kind of pain is not the pain in yourself that you cannot alleviate... but the pain of a loved one that you cannot easily relieve.

It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people. --Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman, "Good Omens"
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players (i.e. everybody), to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

Heyo folks. Greetings from Boring Cubicle Land, where I once again don the Headshackle of Customer Service and fix problems that people either can't, or are too darned lazy to RTFM about. Granted, the manual in this case reads like stereo instructions translated from Korean through Esperanto, but still.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Eep! I'm on my way home, Ephe. Be there ASAP.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
...I think I have had entirely too much caffeine, today. I am tired, nay, utterly tired, but I feel like I'm being dragged along for the ride anyway. Don't got much motivation, but I'm putting one foot in front of the other anyhow. I do what I must because I can.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
I really, really wish my joints would stop popping and clicking at every single opportunity.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Left Knee Function WithOut Pain: 85%. Right Knee FWOP: 60%. Left Shoulder FWOP: 75%. ...Started when I got up, been getting a bit more painful as the day goes on. We're in for a week of rain like this, too.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
One storm cell, a big one, coming up from the south. Another one, smaller, hovering to the north. This is gonna be fun... I can feel it in my joints.
-EvilBenFranklin, Mad Scientists' Union Local 42
Sand: Yeah, I'm back. Not terribly happy about that. Not really happy about how my weekend went, either... it was more frustrating than relaxing, and I'm really having to re-evaluate a couple of long-term friendships because of it.
